YOYO's First Visit to the Vet

Technically, this is the second visit that YOYO's ever taken to the vet. Our breeder had taken him a couple days before we picked him up. Obviously, he shows a ton of excitement...

When we got there, he wouldn't get out of the car. He's gotten better at getting in and out of the car, sometimes. This time, didn't even budge. Kristy has to carry him out onto the step. Then, he was ok walking into the vet's office.

Kristy and I has chosen to go with the Alta Vista Veterinary Hospital. We also chose to go with a doctor that has had some experience with Samoyeds before. Overall, good first impression. We were a tad late, but the doctor stuck around and gave us all we needed to know for our first visit (I hope).

On this visit, YOYO got a bunch of stuff done to him: annual Booster (Lepto) shot, Bordetella Vaccination, a Fecal sample analysis, as well as an overall assessment of his health. We were also given Sentinel pills for YOYO to take twice (and more later of course). So what's the damage on our first visit? $258.66! It was a bit more than what we anticipated, but what can you do right?

YOYO was a very good boy on the table. He didn't make a sound when the injection happened, but he did more around a bit, and sneezed a bunch of the vaccination out that went into his nose. Sneezed all over Kristy, lol. We were told that YOYO will be tired later on in the day, and he was. He slept well that night. The next visit to the vet will be in 4 weeks time for rabies.
